The first branch of the Mothers' Union in Wales was formed in our diocese at Llandrindod Wells, in 1884, and there are now 38 branches with about 1,000 members.
These are members who can no longer attend branch meetings because they are housebound through age, illness or because they are carers. These Members receive Christmas and Easter Greetings and the Diocesan Newsletter. They provide prayerful support for the ongoing work of MU in the diocese.
Diocesan Members may be people who do not wish to (or are unable to) be part of a group and attend meetings but who would like to support the work of Mothers' Union.
In Swansea and Brecon, members enjoy the fellowship of meeting in branches or of being a diocesan link. Members are committed to furthering the work of MU by helping to fund a variety of projects which improve the lives of families both locally and worldwide
