The Countess of Wessex has given Teilo’s Community Cwtch the royal seal of approval at its official opening. There to greet her were members of the Mothers’ Union of Swansea and Brecon and, at the end of her visit, the Countess was presented with an embroidered poem by MU member Gaynor Williams.
Diocesan President Ruth Roberts presents a cheque for £8,000 to Faith in Families CEO Cherrie Bija at the charity's Christmas concert at St Mary's, Swansea
Our chosen charity this year is Faith in Families, which is part of the Diocesan Board for Social Responsibility. Faith in Families runs three centres in Swansea - Clase, Bonymaen and St Teilo's Cwtch - and the St John's Centre in Brecon.
Members paid a visit to St Teilo's Cwtch, the charity's brand new £1m centre in Penplas to see the new facilities and the work which goes on there.
In Swansea and Brecon, members enjoy the fellowship of meeting in branches or of being a diocesan link. Members are committed to furthering the work of MU by helping to fund a variety of projects which improve the lives of families both locally and worldwide
